I have often held multiple roles in organizations or have worked on several different types of projects at a time. Frequently, I have been asked "which hat are you wearing right now." Since I do a wide range of things, creating Paula's Many Hats is a way to bring my many interests and pursuits under one larger "hat."
I am intensely curious and interested in an eclectic array of subjects which are reflected in the pages of this website. So -- Welcome!
Paula Popper has often said that her life is the long and winding road...through the wilderness and the between spaces. She has studied under many teachers in a variety of venues, including time spent at university, multi-year programs, and individual research.
She is religiously most closely aligned with the Jewish Renewal movement and calls herself a practical mystic. Paula looks for the wonder and beauty in everyone she meets and every circumstance she encounters.
With a background in science, administration and procedural organization, she has also taught Jewish meditation since the mid-1990s. Paula has been singing all her life in a variety of styles, but her most favorite style is chant or kirtan-style chant.
Paula is a Reiki master and has studied a variety of energy healing modalities, creating a synergistic blend of her own. She earned her certification in Clinical Hypnotherapy in the early 2000s in Ohio. She also regularly used guided meditation and non-directive imagery techniques with her clients in her business, Inner Peaceworks.
She has regularly spoken to small and large groups since participating in speech competitions in the early 80s. Over the years she has presented and taught on a variety of topics.
She is working on a series of online classes in Jewish meditation and is also planning meditation retreats. If you are interested in this, please drop her a line and let her know.
Paula loves to cook and learn about food. She is currently writing two cookbooks and has developed a specialty in teaching people who "don't know how to cook" how to do just that -- cook a meal for themselves and others.
Paula has been writing and editing since 1992 and specialized in converting technical writing to business proposals. She now writes (in addition to the cookbooks) prayers, blessings and vows used in weddings and in memorial services.
